38 Driver's Education Course
ATTENTION
THE LOUISIANA OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES IS REQUIRING THAT ANYONE SEEKING A PERMIT, INTERMEDIATE LICENSE, OR DRIVER’S LICENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME MUST GO TO THE OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES (OMV) TO GET A TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION PERMIT (TIP) CARD BEFORE TAKING THE DRIVER’S EDUCATION COURSE.
30 Hours of Classroom Instruction
8 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving
15 - 17 year old Students
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
$500 (Cash or Money Order)

THE LOUISIANA OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES IS REQUIRING THAT ANYONE SEEKING A PERMIT, INTERMEDIATE LICENSE, OR DRIVER’S LICENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME MUST GO TO THE OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES (OMV) TO GET A TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION PERMIT (TIP) CARD BEFORE TAKING THE DRIVER’S EDUCATION COURSE.

Every student must take the following to the OMV to obtain the TIP Card:

Original birth certificate
-
Original Social Security Card
-
About $35
-
Two (2) proofs of residency such as a copy of your electricity bill, water bill, natural gas bill.
IN ADDITION, all students taking the 38 hour course must also take the following to the OMV to obtain a TIP Card:
1) Original or court certified custody papers (if there are any)
2) Legal custodial/domiciliary parent/guardian with their Driver’s License or State ID Card
