IMPORTANT INFORMATION
THE LOUISIANA OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES IS REQUIRING THAT ANYONE SEEKING A PERMIT, INTERMEDIATE LICENSE, OR DRIVER'S LICENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME MUST GO TO THE OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES (OMV) TO GET A TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION PERMIT (TIP) CARD BEFORE TAKING THE DRIVER'S EDUCATION COURSE.
Every student must take the following to the OMV to obtain the TIP Card:
1) Original birth certificate
2) Original Social Security Card
3) About $35
4) Two (2) proofs of residency such as a copy of your electricity bill, water bill, natural gas bill.

14 hour Pre-licensing class
FULL PAYMENT IS DUE BEFORE STUDENT CAN ATTEND CLASS
Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Office of Motor Vehicles requires anyone 18 years of age or older who wants to get a driver's license must take a 14 Hour Pre-licensing Course, which includes 6 hours of in-class instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel driving and to complete a Road Skills Test.
The 14 Hour Pre-licensing course includes the following:
- Basic rules and regulations
- Specific proactive/defensive driving techniques
- Prepares the student for the Knowledge Exam. The Knowledge Exam will be given at the end of the 6 hour of classroom instruction.
Class Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- Must have a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) from the DMV
- Single Day Classes are held from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm
- Two Evening Classes are held from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
8 Hour Behind-the-Wheel Instruction:
- Behind the Wheel training will be done in our vehicles that has dual brakes and cameras in the vehicle.
- Each student drives one-on-one with the same instructor for 2 hours each day for 4 driving sessions. (can be broken down to shorter sessions if needed)
- The students will receive driving experience in rural, highway, interstate, and city roadways.
- The ROAD SKILLS TEST is administered for 17-year-olds or after a 16 year old has held his/her permit for 180+ days.
